My name is Elena Petrova, and I work under the name Aora- a space where objects are made with intention, and kept only when they feel right.

I spent several years working as an architect, designing spaces and thinking about how people move through them- what they notice, and what they don’t. Over time, the act of creating became increasingly important, and the objects I create now come from the same way of seeing, but they are shaped only by hand.

My process is led by the materials. I begin with form- something raw and physical, and follow where it takes me. A piece is finished when it no longer asks anything of me.

I create for people who live with intention. For those who care about what they bring into a space, and why. Because a single object in the right place can change the atmosphere of a space and over time, even the way you feel within it.
